Jason Milton, a third year pharmacy student at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, has been selected as the 2006-07 recipient of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) Student Leadership Award. Because of his interest in health-system pharmacy and demonstrated leadership, Milton has been identified as a student who represents the very best attributes and accomplishments of ASHP student members.

Milton's accomplishments in pharmacy school include being chairman of the Dean's Student Advisory Council, secretary of the Academy of Students of Pharmacy of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, vice president of the UGA chapter of the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists, vice regent of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and Kappa Psi director of alumni affairs and co-chair of the Province IV Legislative Committee, president of Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Society, and a member of the University Council. In addition he participated in the university's Studies Abroad Program in Vietnam in May 2006, conducting an international comparison of pharmaceutical services and health delivery.

Milton was among 12 recipients nationwide of the ASHP award out of 71 applicants. He received a plaque, a $2,500 cash award provided by the ASHP Research and Education Foundation, and a drug information library valued at more than $900.
