RA Program Description
The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy has established a graduate-level certificate program and an option for a Master of Science degree in Pharmacy with an emphasis in Regulatory Affairs. This program is geared for Regulatory Affairs working professionals. As such, this program is designed to be taken on a part-time basis.
Regulatory Affairs Professionals are employed in industry, government and academia and provide a range of services related to the development, manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, in vitro diagnostics, biologics, biotechnology, nutritional products, cosmetics, and veterinary products.
Due to the rapidly expanding biotechnology industry in Georgia, there is a substantial need for highly trained professionals ready to perform the work required within this specialized industrial sector. Education and professional development are critical to the regulatory affairs professional, who must keep up-to-date with laws, regulations and regulatory guidance documents for one or more product lines as well as maintain an understanding of the scientific and technical background of new products.
This program will offer graduate credit courses at the UGA at Gwinnett campus from UGA's College of Pharmacy leading to a UGA certificate and, if a student completes additional graduate courses and meets the admission criteria, an MS in Pharmacy (an existing UGA degree) with a new area of emphasis in regulatory affairs.
- The Certificate and Master of Science programs require separate application processes and admission criteria.
- The Master of Science program is under development and the courses listed are subject to change.
- Course work delivery will employ a combination of distance learning templates and weekend sessions specifically geared for the needs of working adult students.
- The administrative base for this program is located at The University of Georgia at Gwinnett (UGA at Gwinnett) in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
