The ARCHE Cross Registration Program
This page outlines the College of Pharmacy’s Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Program’s policy for students wishing to take Regulatory Affairs courses through the ARCHE Cross Registration Program. This policy applies to both the Masters and the Graduate Certificate programs.

It is the student’s responsibility to familiarize him/herself with
these Regulatory Affairs Program policies on participation in the ARCHE
Cross Registration program and to refer back to this page
for the most current and up-to-date information. Failure to do so could
jeopardize the student’s ability to register for Regulatory Affairs
Graduate Education courses.
What is ARCHE? ARCHE is an acronym for Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education. It is a consortium of public and private institutions of Higher Education, libraries, and other non-profit and corporate partners in the Atlanta area. A primary mission of ARCHE is to expand educational opportunities. The URL for this program is: www.atlantahighered.org/.
Cross Registration Program: Within this consortium is a service called "Cross Registration." This service allows students who are enrolled in an ARCHE institution (his/her home school) to take classes at another ARCHE institution (the host school).
Advantages - Facilitation of Registration:

Fees for the cross registration course(s) are included in the student’s home institution’s fee statement and are paid directly to the student’s home institution.
• UGA Regulatory Affairs Program: For the Regulatory Affairs Program, there is a separate Program Fee. The student is still required to pay the program fee directly to the UGA’s Bursar’s Office. -
If the student is admitted into the Graduate School of his or her home institution, a secondary Graduate School Application to the host school is not necessary.
• UGA Regulatory Affairs Program: A program application specific to Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Program is still required.

The Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Policies
for participation in the ARCHE Cross Registration Program
1. Important: Refer to this policy page for the most up-to-date
information.
2. Important: The Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Program is participating in the ARCHE Cross Registration Program on an evaluation basis. At the program’s discretion, UGA College of Pharmacy’s Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Program has the option to end its participation in the ARCHE Cross Registration program at any time. Notification will be posted at the Program’s web page. This will not impact those students who are currently enrolled in any Regulatory Affairs courses.
3. The Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Program requires the standard program application process outlined at the program’s website. If you are admitted into an accredited institution, you do not need to apply the UGA Graduate School.
4. The submission to the Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Program Application and Admission into the program does not guarantee the ARCHE Cross Registration participating student a place in each of the Regulatory Affairs Program courses. Course admission is dependant upon availability of seating and/or class size and the student’s program grades. University of Georgia students have priority for enrollment. ARCHE Cross Registration students are permitted when space is available.
5. The UGA Regulatory Affairs program will consider for admission ARCHE Cross Registration students those students who are currently enrolled in an accredited graduate program from a participating ARCHE Cross Registration institution.

Regulatory Affairs (RA) Graduate Education Program
a. What is the maximum number of courses a student can take through cross registration? Graduate or professional students may not exceed a cumulative cross-registration course total equal to 15% of the total courses taken during their graduate experience. Any student’s combined course load for a semester at both the home and host institutions may not exceed the full-time semester course load allowable at the home institution.
b. What institutions participate in cross registration? The 19 institutions that are members of ARCHE participate. The "home" institution is the institution at which you currently are enrolled in a program for which academic credit is awarded (the definition of "program" is determined by your institution). The "host" institution is the institution which you would like to attend to cross register for a course.
c. Whom should I contact on my campus to get information about cross registration? The cross registration coordinator is the campus administrator responsible for assisting students in understanding and completing the cross registration process, ensuring the completion and transmittal of application forms, and helping students meet their responsibilities under the program.
d. How do I know if I’m eligible to cross register? You are eligible for cross registration if you are in good academic standing at your home institution and meet all program eligibility requirements set by the home and host institutions. At the time of cross registration, you must currently be enrolled at your home institution in at least one course at the graduate or professional level in a program for which academic credit is awarded (the definition of "program" is determined by your institution). You also must meet program application deadlines: June 15 for Fall Semester and November 1 for Spring Semester. There are no summer admissions for the Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Program.
e. How do I cross register? You must complete a cross registration application, following the instructions on the back of the form. The application must be signed by your academic advisor and by the cross registration coordinators at the home and host institutions. If the host institution course instructor’s or department’s approval is needed, you may be directed to obtain such approval. Once all approvals have been obtained, the host institution’s cross registration coordinator will register you for the approved course on a space-available basis after the host institution’s regularly enrolled or continuing students have had first priority for registration.

f. Where can I obtain a Cross Registration Application?
Cross Registration Applications are available from your institutions
cross registration coordinator or registrar. The application also may be
printed from the ARCHE Cross Registration website: www.atlantahighered.org/memberservices/
crossregistration.asp.
g. Are there any restrictions on the types of courses for which I may cross register? You may not cross register at another institution if the desired course is available at your home institution during the same semester. In addition, cross registration may not be used to register for non-credit continuing education courses, workshops, seminars, etc.
h. May I cross register for courses during the summer? The Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education program will allow registration for Summer Semester only for those students who previously have been admitted into the program. There are no new admissions for Summer Semester.
i. When and where do I pay my tuition for a cross registration course? Students may cross register so long as they pay all regular tuition and fees, when due, to the home institution. Special fees (program fee, parking, etc.) normally paid by the host institution’s students must be paid to the host institution by cross registration students. A host institution also may assess visiting students certain security deposits for equipment that usually is leased to the host institution’s students.

The Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Program charges a per semester Program Fee. This fee must be paid directly to the University of Georgia’s Bursar’s Office. This Program Fee cannot be paid to the student’s home institution.
j. What is my student status at the host institution? If you register for a course through cross registration, you are considered a visiting student which does not constitute regular admission to the host institution.
k. What are the provisions for disabled students? Disabled students must submit any requests for accommodations needed for purposes of cross registration to the disability services coordinator at their home institution. If the disability services coordinator at the home institution determines that accommodations are appropriate, he/she will send a letter detailing the approved accommodations to the disability services coordinator at the host institution.
l. What is the maximum number of courses I can take through cross registration? Graduate or professional students may not exceed a cumulative cross-registration course total equal to 15% of the total courses taken during their graduate experience. Any student’s combined course load for a semester at both the home and host institutions may not exceed the full-time semester course load allowable at the home institution.
m. How are grades for cross registration courses handled? As a cross registration student, you are graded according to the academic standards and grading practices of the host institution. Upon completion of the course, the cross registration coordinator of the host institution will ensure that your transcript is sent to the cross registration coordinator of your home institution for inclusion on your official transcript. Seniors who are graduating at the end of the semester in which they are cross registered shall be responsible for contacting the host institution coordinator to obtain an alternate grade report to provide to the home institution.
