Course Objectives

About this course:

Clinical Applications (PHRM 3850) is designed to give the student exposure to clinical diseases and management (nonpharmacological and pharmacological) through patient case presentations (interviews).

Course Objectives:

For each patient presentation, students should be able to identify and understand the following:

  1. Signs/symptoms that the patient describes (or exhibits) and its relationship to his/her disease (condition).
  2. Pathophysiology of the disease(s).
  3. Incidence of the disease(s).
  4. Etiology of patient's disease(s).
  5. Clinical diagnosis of the disease(s).
  6. The role of nonpharmacological intervention in managing the disease(s).
  7. The role of pharmacological agents in managing the disease(s).
  8. Association of disease(s) and patient specific data obtained from patient presentation.
