Vehicle Policies and Procedures
Vehicle Use Policy
College of Pharmacy vehicles are made available for official use by faculty, staff, students who have been authorized by a responsible
faculty or staff member.
Drivers must have a valid Georgia driver's license and are responsible for conforming to all applicable traffic laws,
parking regulations, and all state/University policies regarding use and operation of state vehicles.
The Business Office maintains procedures for scheduling use of College vehicles and checks out keys to users. The Logistical
Support Manager, Ken Schroder, is responsible for coordinating vehicle maintenance and repair.
Please note that anyone who wishes to use College vehicles must comply with the College's Travel Authority Policy and Procedure.
Vehicle Procedures
The College of Pharmacy has four vehicles for employee use:
- Vehicle #93453--Buick Station Wagon
- Vehicle #94529--Chevy Malibu Sedan
- Vehicle #94831--Chevy Uplander Minivan
- An additional Minivan stationed in Augusta; for reservations, contact Sheila Sinks at 706-721-4915 or e-mail ssinks@mail.mcg.edu.
Each vehicle has a gasoline card in the glove compartment and a cell phone (the phone is for 911 calls only). The gasoline
card requires a code number that is available in the Business Office before you leave.
Vehicles must be reserved online using the Vehicle Reservation form. The keys can be picked up the day
before, if you plan to leave early in the morning, or on the day you plan to travel.
When you return, be sure to turn in the keys right away, since they may be needed by the next person who has scheduled the vehicle. If the Business Office is closed, place the keys
in the drop box on the office door. Be sure to indicate where you parked the vehicle on the laminated map attached to the keys.
Please note that it is against state law to take the vehicle home with you; be sure to return it directly to the College.
If gas is low, please fill the tank before returning the vehicle. Use VT&M (Vehicle Transportation and Maintenance) on River Road
for this purpose; they will fill the tank, clean the vehicle, and charge the College's account.
Note: If the gasoline card doesn't work on your trip, you can use your own credit card and get reimbursed by the Business Office
(you will need your receipt).
