Feb. 4, 2002 - Dr. John DesRosier will present a seminar on intellectual property rights, copyright, patent law, etc.
Lawrence Downey, MD, CEO of Solvay
Pharma, has accepted an invitation to present a seminar on the world pharmacetuical
market. We are currently in the process of scheduling a date for
this event.
Fall 2001:
The Student Chapter hosted a "Movie Night" on November 15, 2001. Pizza and popcorn were provided. Fifteen members were in attendance.
Mark Prausnitz, PhD, of Georgia Tech
Department of Chemical Engineering presented a seminar entitled, 'Microfabricated
Microneedles: Engineering Design, Drug Delivery into Skin and Progress
Towards Commercialization, on October 8, 2001, at the invitation of UGA-AAPS.

A picnic was held on September 22 in conjunction with the Cell Biology Graduate Student Association to afford members the opportunity to interact with one another in our department as well as with other graduate students on campus.
A chapter meeting was held on September 12, to greet new students, explain the chapter's function and goals, and obtain feedback concerning the desires and issues of the members. Sixteen members were in attendance.
Spring 2001:
UGA-AAPS has invited Roger Williams, President of the Unites States Pharmacopoiea and will co-host him with Sven Oie, PhD, Dean of the College of Pharmacy on Thursday, April 26, 2001.
Monday, February 5, 2001, Stacy Brown, our chapter chair, wishes to invite you to a question and answer session with UGA career services. The representative of career services will address such topics as resume and cv building, job search, interviewing skills, and other related subject matter. The session was suggested by members during the Fall 2000 chapter meeting.

Stem Cell Technologies,' on November 27, 2000, at the invitation of Dean
