Annual Non-Endowed Scholarships

The College offers annual scholarships to current pharmacy students. The support comes from company grants, faculty donations, alumni memorial gifts, and family foundations. Criteria include academic achievement, leadership abilities, community involvement and patient counseling and communication.

David and Jane Chu Scholarship

Qualifications:

This scholarship is awarded to a student(s) in the College of Pharmacy who has a financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid; a good vision of pharmacy; an attained and maintained 3.0 GPA; and completed their first year and are eligible for scholarship(s) in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study.

Required Application Materials:

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a personal statement, which addresses their vision of pharmacy. Describe your financial situation. Justify why you are seeking aid. Describe how you would benefit from the financial aid.

CVS Scholarship

Qualifications:

This scholarship is awarded to a student in good academic standing and interested in a career in community pharmacy practice and who intern/volunteer their time with an organization that supports underserved populations. Preference is given to students who are bilingual. Students are selected regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or national origin. 

Required Application Materials:

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a personal statement, which addresses their interest in community pharmacy practice.

College of Pharmacy Faculty Scholarship

Qualifications:

This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates academic achievement, professional integrity and leadership qualities.

Required Application Material:

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a personal statement addressing their "professional integrity and leadership qualities."

Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists

Qualifications:

This scholarship is awarded to a student in the College of Pharmacy who is a member of GSHP, a Georgia resident, academic achievement, leadership potential and has a financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Required Application Material:

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a personal statement, which addresses their leadership potential. Describe your financial situation. Justify why you are seeking aid. Describe how you would benefit from the financial aid.

Robert E. Long Kroger Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

This memorial scholarship is awarded to a student who is a current Kroger employee.

Required Application Material:

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a personal statement, which addresses their interest in community pharmacy practice.

Heidi Flye Kroger Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

This memorial scholarship is awarded to a student who is a current Kroger employee.

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a personal statement which addresses their interest in community pharmacy practice.

National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation Pharmacy Partners Scholarship

Qualifications:

This scholarships is awarded to a student who has completed at least one professional year of pharmacy school, experienced in community pharmacy, as well as a desire to pursue a career in community pharmacy; strong oral and written communication skills, excel at patient counseling and must be in good academic standing.

Required Application Material:

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a personal statement, in which they address the significance of patient counseling and communication. 

Oh Pharmacy of Johns Creek Scholarship

Qualifications:

The recipient of the OH Pharmacy of Johns Creek Scholarship must be an international student entering his or her 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of the professional pharmacy program who has financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Publix Super Markets Charities Scholarship

Qualifications:

The Publix Super Markets Charities, Inc. was established in 1966 by George W. Jenkins, Founder of Publix. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate an interest in a career in a community pharmacy practice.

Required Application Material:

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a personal statement, which addresses their "interest in a career in a community pharmacy practice."  

Adetoun (Rita) Thompson Annual Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications

This memorial scholarship is awarded to a pharmacy student of Afro-American heritage, with a GPA of 2.75 or better, and who has a financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Walgreens Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Award

Qualifications

This scholarship is awarded to a single student who embraces diversity and promotes diversity and inclusion initiatives on campus.

Required Application Material:

As part of the application process, students must submit a personal statement which demonstrates diversity and promotes diversity and inclusion invitiatives. Describe your financial situation. Justify why you are seeking aid. Describe how you would benefit from the financial aid.

Walgreens Diversity Scholarship

Qualifications:

This scholarship is awarded to one or more student(s) of an underrepresented minority group with an interest in community pharmacy.

Georgia Pharmacy Foundation - Harold B. Hodgson, Jr., R.Ph., Leadership Scholarship

Qualifications:

This scholarship is named for Harold B. Hodgson, Jr. who was a long-time leader in Georgia pharmacy and exemplified certain qualities such as honesty, integrity, caring and a passion for working to improve the profession of pharmacy and the quality of life of his patients. His accomplishments are legendary and his impact on pharmacy in Georgia is immeasurable. The scholarship will be awarded to a student pharmacist who exhibits strong leadership qualities and a desire to be actively involved in the pharmacy profession. In order to qualify, a recipient must demonstrate a willingness to follow the example set by Harold B. Hodgson, Jr., be a member of GPhA and maintain a GPA greater than 3.0.

Required Application Material:

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a personal statement in which you address your leadership qualities and how you plan to be actively involved in your profession. 

Georgia Pharmacy Foundation - Regina Baird Scholarship

Qualifications:

Annually, two students from each of the three Georgia pharmacy schools are awarded $1,000 each. These are exemplary students who have been chosen by a faculty committee at each of the schools of pharmacy. Recipients must maintain a GPA greater than 3.0 and be a member of GPhA.

Georgia Pharmacy Foundation - Neil L. Pruitt, Sr., Entrepreneurial Scholarship

Qualifications:

This scholarship is unrestricted and will be given annually to one student at each of the three Georgia pharmacy schools. Each recipient will receive $1,000. The students will be selected by a faculty committee at each of the schools of pharmacy. The recipients are exemplary students who have demonstrated entrepreneurial abilities. Recipient must maintain a GPA greater than 3.0 and be a member of GPhA. 

Required Application Material:

To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a personal statement in which you define and discuss the value of entrepreneurship within the pharmacy profession and how your personal qualities support your entrepreneurial abilities. 

Georgia Pharmacy Foundation - Carlton Henderson Scholarship

Qualifications:

One student from each of the three Georgia pharmacy schools is selected annually to receive $1,000 for the Carlton Henderson Scholarship. The scholarship recipients are exemplary students who are selected by a faculty committee at each of the schools of pharmacy. Recipient must maintain a GPA greater than 3.0 and be a member of GPhA.
