This major research grant is concerned with the regulatory role of protein kinase-B (Akt) and Src in mediating endothelial-barrier function and vascular permeability, and seeks to advance basic scientific knowledge that can be useful in identifying therapeutic targets for a number of vascular permeability-dependent clinical conditions.
