Bartlett Appointed Associate Dean for Science Education, Research and Technology

Dr. Michael Bartlett, the Georgia Athletic Association Professor in Pharmacy, has been appointed associate dean for Science Education, Research and Technology. He will begin his new duties Nov. 1. Previously, he served as the director of the B.S. Program and interim assistant dean for Nontraditional Education and Outreach.

Dr. Bartlett is an accomplished researcher with more than 140 peer-reviewed publications, 200 presentations, and 40 grants as PI, CO-PI or Co-I; he also has supervised 20 Ph.D. students, 6 MS students, 24 undergraduate students and 10 visiting scholars and postdocs. Dr. Bartlett is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).

In addition, he expanded the regulatory sciences program to become a successful global initiative and driving force not only in admitting working adults into the program, but also students from various programs at UGA, Emory and Georgia Tech. Under his leadership, a regulatory devices conference was initiated. He undertook the challenge of designing and developing a B.S. degree in the Pharmaceutical Sciences and has been able to build a strong program with more than 200 declared students.
