Information for All PharmD Professional Program Applicants

Application Guidelines

  1. Applicants must submit the online application by February 1. The earlier the application is submitted, the sooner it will be processed. The fall 2008 application cycle begins on Aug. 1 . The link below to our online application for fall 2008 is will be available from Aug. 1, 2007 through February 1, 2008. All U.S. applicants, including reapplicants and current UGA students, will be required to apply online and pay the non-refundable $55.00 processing fee.
  2. We have a status page where you can check to find out when your file is complete (PCAT scores, transcripts and recommendations received). Please note that this page DOES NOT REPORT ADMISSIONS DECISIONS. When you apply online, you'll receive an e-mail confirmation with the URL of the status page. Or you can click here to check the status of your application file.
  3. Americans with Disabilities Act: The application for admission will be made available in accessible formats upon request. Please call 706-542-5278 for further information.
  4. At least two recommendations are required for each applicant. Reference forms can be downloaded below. One recommender should be a pre-pharmacy advisor or someone familiar with the applicant’s educational background; the other should be a health care professional, preferably a pharmacist. Applicants may submit additional recommendations by photocopying the printed form or downloading additional copies below.
  5. All applicants must take the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) and have their scores sent to The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. The fall test date is preferred so that students have the opportunity to re-take the test in January (in time to meet the February 1 application deadline) if they desire. Students may take the PCAT as many times as they wish without penalty. Individual percentile scores as well as Composite percentile scores are reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Contact your prepharmacy advisor for information on review books and courses for the PCAT. You might also want to visit http://www.testprepreview.com/ for free online PCAT practice questions.
  6. Applicants must submit official transcripts of course work taken at any institution of higher learning you have attended. Current UGA students may submit an official UGA transcript only since it already reflects any transfer credits from other institutions. If you are presently enrolled in a college, you will need to send a transcript showing course work through fall 2008. Official transcripts must be mailed directly to the College of Pharmacy, Attention: Pharm.D. Admissions, Green Street, University of Georgia 30602. All transcripts must be received by the College of Pharmacy by February 1. When you request an official transcript from a college you have attended, be sure to print and show them our transcript address to ensure that they will send your transcript to the correct place.
  7. All applicants should be prepared for an on-campus interview with members of the Admissions Committee and currently enrolled pharmacy students. During the interview, students may be asked to discuss their academic background, reasons for selecting pharmacy as a profession, plans upon graduation, work experience, leadership experience, and extracurricular/entrepreneurial experiences. Verbal and written communication skills will also be evaluated by the committee.
  8. All applicants should familiarize themselves with the Required and Recommended Immunizations. Students who matriculate in Fall 2008 must satisfy these requirements to attend the University of Georgia.
  9. If you are a Permanent Resident, you must send a photocopy of your Alien Registration Card to be used for residency and tuition purposes. Please send the copy directly to UGA College of Pharmacy, Admissions Office, Athens, GA 30602.
